Transforming a site to reclaim brand relevance and purpose

Challenge

A website that no longer met the needs of its primary users

NEMA, a 100-year-old nonprofit representing US electrical manufacturers, had recently embarked on a new brand story and mission — one that looks towards the industry’s future, made possible by technology.

To ensure that NEMA’s online presence aligned with the launch of their new brand, NEMA turned to Havit for help.

Havit’s initial site assessment found a legacy enterprise site with 31,000 pages, 80% of which were not indexed, a broken navigational structure, a non-responsive design, and outdated content.

Solution

Turning complexity into clarity with a complete web redo

Havit launched a new site rebuilt on WordPress, using GenerateBlocks for optimal flexibility in design and future page development. The new site framework addressed the client’s pain points by offering:

  • A scalable content structure that allowed for easier backend maintenance and required copy updates.
  • A comprehensive information architecture (IA) and taxonomy to organize content hierarchically for enhanced usability by multiple user profiles.
  • Site navigation and search functionality to simplify the user experience, making navigation more intuitive and desired content easier to find.
